Why he's below Wes Unseld: It seems like he's been around a long time, but Leonard has only been an all star 5 times. He's played fewer than 75 games every year of his career as well. The career totals just aren't high enough for him to pass Unseld yet, considering how similar their overall resumes are.
Why he's above the rest: Leonard is arguably the best defensive wing of the last decade. He's made more All-Defense teams than all star teams and won his first Finals MVP based on his defense more than his scoring. He's 1 of only 3 non-centers to win Defensive Player of the Year multiple times. His defense has slipped just a bit as he's focused more on offense, but he's proven to be a great offensive player as well. He's a good shooter, coming near 50/40/90 numbers, and has increased his APG almost every year of his career. As long as he stays healthy, he should finish his career well inside the top-50 all time.
