Why he's below Tiny Archibald: Westbrook's entire resume is based on his stats, but if you look beyond points, rebounds, and assists, his stats are not impressive. He's led the league in turnovers 4 times and has the worst era-adjusted shooting percentages of anyone in my top 75 by a pretty wide margin. If some of a player's stats are great and some are bad, do they even average out to make a good player?

Why he's above the rest: Of course he's a great player! Westbrook is the lowest ranked player to win an MVP (besides Nikola Jokic who hasn't officially been named MVP at the time I'm writing this), and his MVP was well-earned, not a questionable one like a few players ranked higher won. A player has averaged a triple-double in the regular season only 5 times, and Westbrook has 4 of those. He's the only player in NBA history to lead the league in both points and assists in multiple seasons (though not in the same season). His triple-double related records are too numerous to list. He also already holds the record for career rebounds by a player 6'3" or shorter and will likely end his career in the top-10 all time in assists and steals and possibly in points. He might be a player who values numbers over winning, like this generation's Wilt, but Wilt isn't a bad player to be.
