Why he's below Adrian Dantley: Dantley was a better shooter and scorer, even when adjusting for era. Otherwise, their stats and team success are pretty similar. Greer has a lot more All-NBA Teams, but just read my Dantley summary if you want to know how I feel about that. Greer was a teammate of Wilt when they were both in their primes, so the blame for not making more deep playoff runs has to fall on Greer almost as much as it does on Wilt. When they finally did make it to the Finals and win a championship in 1967, Chet Walker and Billy Cunningham were taking over a lot of Greer's scoring role.


Why he's above the rest: Greer was 2nd Team All-NBA 7 times and an all star 10 times. Every other player with at least 7 1st/2nd-Team All-NBA appearances is ranked higher. Every player with more than 10 all star appearances is ranked higher. Greer was one of the first great jump shooters and is known for being the only player to regularly shoot free thows as jump shots (where he made 80% for his career).
